Gamma Ray Densitometry (GRD) Technique
Gamma Ray Densitometry (GRD) technique has been designed and developed to measure the line-averaged hold-up radial/diameter profiles of phases along the column diameter and along the height of the bed using a sealed source of Cs-137 (initial activity of 250 mCi) and a NaI detector mounted and aligned with the source on the opposite side. It can be also used as regular reduced tomography by rotating the source and thedetector around the object. By processing the time series of counts received by the detector, it is possible to identify the flow pattern and regime of the multiphase flow systems.
